Increase Club Head Speed

Increase club head speed is a term we hear on TV and read in magazines over and over again. We hear that Tiger Woods has a very high club head speed, and obviously he hits the golf ball along way. But the real question is, how can I increase driver distance, my iron distance, and maintain my accuracy. The answer lays in the fundamental components of the golf swing. When you break the golf swing down into it simplest form, you can see that all we are doing is swinging a club around our body. Just like when you throw a ball, the longer the windup, the farther you can throw it. The same goes for a golf swing, and understanding this principle is the first step to increase club head speed, and to increase the distance you hit a golf ball. If you watch the best players in the world, you will notice that they turn their shoulders extremely far on the backswing. They are able to do this because they are flexible, strong, and understand what is required. Now you may ask yourself, I am flexible, why can’t I hit the golf ball far. The answer is that it is very easy to unintentionally stop your shoulder turn short. The golf swing happens so fast, that we just can’t analyze exactly what is happening. The most common cause of short shoulder turn is the breaking of the wrists prematurely. When you break your wrists too early on the backswing, we cut our shoulder turn short, and in turn make it difficult to increase club head speed. The cure for this is a training aid called the Tour Angle 144. It gives you direct feedback when you break your wrists too early, and therefore allows you to correct it, and know when you are doing it correctly. This simple device can change the way you swing the club, increase your consistency, and lower your scores on the course.
