What Causes A Slice

The most common question in golf is what causes a slice. Curing your golf slice is the biggest desire for most amateurs since it is the most common swing fault. When a golf ball is traveling thru the air and is spinning, the air pressure forces on the golf ball are not uniform around the circumference. There are a number of elements that cause a slice, but one major one is caused by casting the club at the top. Casting is the releasing of the club prematurely in the downswing.
